SPAIN - If you have driven through the country of Spain, you will not be surprised to learn that Spain produces more olives than any other country - twice as many as Italy! You will also find Madrid to be a city filled with magnificent architecture. It is also quite modern - with an up-to-date highway system. Rush hour traffic is also quite modern!
Enjoy the food! In addition to classic Spanish dishes, spend your time and money eating tapas. And listen to Spaniards tell you that their cured ham is the best in the country! And remember…become accustomed to a late (beginning at 9:00 PM) dinner hour.
Madrid is a city of art and incredible museums. Two paintings stand out in the world. Las Meninas by Velasquez is the central attraction at the Prado Museum. And Picasso’s Guernica draws massive crowds each day at the Reina Sofia Museum.
My work in Spain was for a very large multinational company. Since their business language is English, my assignment was to help them develop confident and impactful presentations in English when English is not their mother tongue. |
